Two Beat Band is neither folk nor rock and roll. Founding member and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Taylor has been exploring how folk instruments interact with time-worn guitar rock for a decade now. Teaming up with whoever's available, Taylor has released a string of EPs and countless singles under the Two Beat Band moniker, with songs ranging from indie-folk singalongs to pastoral instrumentals to beautiful guitar solo chaos.
Recently settled in St. Paul, MN, Taylor, joined on guitar by Nate Case (4onthefloor) and drums by Kyle Keegan (Lost in the Trees), is playing Two Beat Band shows in support of their wonderfully somber, hook-laden new full-length, "Weekend Sounds". The album shows the band continuing to explore traditional folk structures, with a refreshing move towards alt-country and indie rock. The finished product, both on record and on stage, sounds like a long, much-needed, windows-down drive through the wooded backroads of the Upper Midwest.
